So I've been looking at the Masters of Library Information Science, from Drexel, for about 3 years now, I signed up for information on it then, and I always get emails from them to where it's borderline annoying, but yet, I always check out the program, around the ends of every semesterish.

This time I see they just started a degree in Healthcare Informatics with an option for library science people to get a healthcare informatics certificate. While healthcare informatics isn't what I do, I see the knowledge of knowing why hospitals would do what they do and how they interact with the technology as a bonus.

The pros, go back to school completely online, and work towards something I've eyed for years, joining my love of books, with some practicality in the healthcare world.

The cons: It's Drexel, a top school. Their cost per credit is 1K. So that's 3K for one class, and not counting other fees.
It's going back to school, when I have no idea if I'll be employed. (Though if by some weird miracle, I'm still employed with Stanley, they have some tuition reimbursement. I have no idea if they have rules for it, but it would be something to look into since I can you know play the healthcare cert. card.)
It'll be a lot of time and effort
Not that anyone climbs at the door to hang out with me, it means not hanging out with anyone and staying in PA for the next x amount of years. (I mean no trips, nothing). I don't mind the loner thing cause these days people are just getting on my nerves.

Another big con is do I want to go get a masters degree in a field that's worse off than mine is?

Then there is the possibility of having to take the GRE even though I'm like 6 years out of undergrad and 5 years out of grad school. I mean I was smart, but I don't think my last two semesters of undergrad GPA average hold up, to waive the GRE. Unless they do it by my grad school one, then I'd be smooth sailing.

I also then run the chance of becoming over qualified for anything as well.

Also I need to start paying down my debt as well. I mean I've got somethings covered, but I just need to put a little more down.

I mean the Cons list is just overwhelming to just say no, but I also have this feeling of what better time to do it than right now.

I think for now, I just needed to get all my thoughts out of my head, and just see what I need to do for applying, and if I happen to get accepted, go from there.

Day 004

music_coaster2010: (shit happens)
The random shit that should be on Twitter but I keep getting Fail Whale of Doom and the creepy looking technically wrong guy.

-Apparently I need to clean tonight before I go home tomorrow. Starting next week they are doing property inspections. Ugh.

-And apparently now we can't have holiday lights on our patio. WTF. Never was an issue before now we get a memo today saying the only thing allowed on the patio is a table and chairs and even then it has to be outdoor decor table and chairs. I'm more pissed off at the holiday lights thing. Uh I like to decorate at the holidays so you know it doesn't look boring, and the fact I enjoy having the lights on becaues I'm not tall enough to set the motion sensor off on the light pole. But whatever.

-Trying to organize my emails. Key word trying.

-Took over 6k screen caps for work almost 2gb in size. Took them on my home computer, because I had to use SUPER to convert it to a different type of avi. But bad thing I don't have 2gb of free space on my laptop. Oi.

- I can't find my flash drive.

-I am procrastinating on cleaning, if you couldn't tell.

-I need a region free DVD player. Not the POS I own that once I unplugged it it stopped playing R2 DVD's and then when I plugged it into a Different TV it refused to play anything in color.

-So I sent an email out to a customer service of a certain DVD company that is making a certain DVD for release in November. Since their site isn't so spectacular, I'm not expecting a reply back. Secretly I'm hoping they listen, I'd like to show my mom the DVD of what I'm seeing, but deep down I know we'll get screwed over. (And I sent the email before anyone on a certain group started asking about things).

-I want to start writing all my different bingo stuff. I just don't have the time to write, because if I'm not cleaning, I need to be doing work. Those screen caps mentioned above, yeah I need to make it a a course by the end of the month while updating the course I was just busting my balls on.

-I'm mentally drained. I need a break.

Time to end this and clean.

Not really an addendum, but um isn't a bit counter intuitive if you don't want to be shown on Camera on a news feature, to share a picture of you and your rampage shooting boyfriend? Just a thought there.

While waiting for something to download, I figure an update.

Tonight my dad gets home from California. Got to leave in a couple hours w/ my mom to go pick him up at the airport. Flight Tracker says he's over New Mexico right now.

Tomorrow I'll be going to the Flyers playoff game with my parents. So exciting.

So that means yet again, I will not be watching Desperate Housewives, as it airs. Oh well. Hockey's a hell of a lot better than Desperate Housewives any day.

Went shopping today for a Flyers shirt, and an outfit to wear to work on Monday, since I'll be heading in from my parents place, lol.

I've got lots of pictures I need to upload and do some photo posts. Maybe those will come after the flyers game tomorrow night.

Can someone please tell my father that at almost 53 years old getting your labret pierced is not cool, especially doing it for the wrong reasons?

I think I have to venture to Walmart today. Ugh. DO NOT WANT, but I know my father won't think of these gifts to get my mother so I've got to go get them.
