music_coaster2010: (books)
I don't post here if at all. I read on here every couple of days, but that's about it. I'm much more at home blogging about things on my Wordpress blog, like book reviews or talk about places I've been things, I've done. I keep this for super personal stuff. But even then I still run to 750words.com

Most people who follow me on here are ones who are on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or Wordpress. Not many people interact with me on here anymore. Not that people interact with me on Wordpress, but it's always interesting to see my stats and where they come from and what they are clicking on. For example, this past weekend was BEA. Sometime last year I wrote about my Power Reader experiences. That post spiked in views this past week. Sadly I didn't get to BEA this year b/c of Wizard World Philly. But next year, BEA is the same time and Philly Comic Con is pushed back by two weeks.

Also, I watch NCIS, and that fandom is crazy. I don't post about Doctor Who anymore because I've got an unpopular opinion. So I have no real need to post fandom stuff anymore. If I do anything, I look for pictures on Tumblr, but stay far far away from anything resembling discussion on there.

and whatever funny show that's like a half hour at the gym I can stream on their wifi. My mom and I started going to the gym and I kind of enjoy it. Well I enjoy certain pieces of equipment.

Then the local zoo by me has gotten giraffes for the summer. Cue tons of giraffe pictures.

If you are FB friends with me all the cuteness is up there. If not, I'll get it on flickr eventually.

I'm not even sure who reads this, but it can't be that many people.

Anywho, it's that time of year. The year end round up.

January:
-Panto (has it been a year already??)
-Hung out with friend who is not my friend, because she's simply easily manipulated, and chose to be friends with people she barely knew over a friendship that had been 7 years long. The joys of being in a sorority. You really do pay for your friends, and when you no longer wish to associate with the losers of the group, you end up with no "friends".

February:
-Didn't do much in February. This is also when I hurt myself shoveling, which in turn would lead to a variety of other things happening later on.

March:
-Les Mis and met up with a friend who is also not a friend, but for different reasons than first friend. This now non friend, can't handle the truth even though they asked for it. And likes to suck up a lot. But said non friend, also just tried to apologize to me, and I think got pissed off that I mentioned I was still friends with his now ex. Hasn't talked to me since. (Could also be the ultimatim I gave him as well...)

-I also worked on that 40 day picture challenge that I never finished on here. Oh well.

April:
-Surgery (no I'm not bitter that I still didn't get to see TSO or Daniel Radcliffe in H2$, not at all, and no I am still not trying to figure out a way to get to Reading in the middle of the week and convince my parents to go see TSO with me in 2012 for the same concert I missed this year, not at all...)

-Also got to meet The Fabulous Beekman Boys for the first time at what was my first doing something since my surgery thing. They'll never know but Josh and Brent are the guys who kept me sane while recovering. Reading Josh's books, and watching the show, was a decent way to recover.

May:
-Ventured to the Zoo with Laurie and said non friend from March. I distinctly remember walking around was feeling pretty good, but the sitting still bothered my scar.

June
-NKOTBSB and Glee Concerts had a panic attack that the BSB one, realized that I really can't handle being at the top of the Wells Fargo Center anymore.
-June is also when I started seeing my counselor.
-June is also when work went to shit.
-Saw Reduced at the Kennedy Center

July
-Knoebels with Chris, Laurie, Dave, and non friend. First amusement park since my surgery, went well, still was a bit sore, but starting to finally feel like I was getting back to "normal"
-Saw and met the band Marcy Playground
-EPIC TPR Trip of awesome. What can I say? Awesome new friends, and rides, and yeah. It was just epic. Best vacation ever. (could also be that I didn't have to plan ANYTHING, I just had to show up)

August
-Finished out epic trip of awesome
-Saw Uncle Vanya at the Kennedy Center
-Visited my friends Kate and Kelly at their place in Va.

Apparently nothing else that interesting happened since I didn't post that month.

September
-My 29th Birthday
-Harvest Fest up in Sharon Springs (aka meet the Beekman Boys again). Such a Fabulous weekend. Fantastic amazing food, and wonderful people. (Oh and I totally model walked with Josh).
-Went up to New York city to see Graham norton's Would you Rather being taped
-Went to dinner with Chris and his daughter

October:
-Knoebels: Phoenix Phall Phunfest, met up with a friend from the TPR trip and hung out with him and his friends. Got to ride Black Diamond on opening day.
-Dutch Wonderland- Yes, I'm a coaster credit whore, went to a kiddie park just to ride the coaster. Realized that it's not the kids that are the problems, it's the freaking parents.
-Great Adventure- Got the rest of my missing coaster credits from great adventure.
-Knoebels: Interesting to say the least, said non friend really wasn't being friendly, and caused lots of tension amongst the group.
-Christian Kane concert, was after Knoebels, and was supposed to start at 10. Arrived at 9:45 and he was halfway into his set. Also saw non friend from January, there. Subtly gave her evil looks, wished I knew some voodoo or something to spook her. Would have been hilarious. concert was good, even though we were on the side, downside, something in the bar made my allergies go absolutely INSANE. Eyes red and watering, and sneezing, itching blargh. So sadly we left early.
-Met the Beekman Boys for the third time. Have I mentioned how much I adore and respect them??
-Went on a business trip to chicago, ate my way through Lake Forrest, IL. Want to go back.
-Geared up for NaNoWriMo

November:
-Saw La Cage Aux Folles
-had falling out with non friend
-Saw Hugh Jackman on Broadway (stage doored it and got him to sign my playbill)
-Went to dinner with Chris at an awesome place in Philly.
-Did 15K words for NaNoWriMo, work ate my soul and took over any free time.
-Went to some great write-ins though for NaNo.
-Saw Gary Hoey in concert

December
-Went to Q102's Jingle Ball saw some awesome people in concert
-Went with Laurie and Chris to see the Nemour's Mansion and Gardens
-Work office building officially closed, am now a remote employee. Still uncertain about things, but feel a teenyweeny bit more secure about work, and by teeny bit I mean really tiny.
-Went to Longwood Gardens this Christmas eve, to continue the new family tradition of going out.
-Christmas came and went was good :)

Overall lots of changes happened.

I also read 58 books this year. Go checkout my Wordpress Blog to see my book lists over the years, and some book rambling.

I'll probably post on my Wordpress page about goals and items for 2012.

What? Not that anyone reads this here journal much anymore.

But I've just got back from a business trip to Chicago. I ate my way through the week. Since I couldn't do any sightseeing anywhere, I realized I had friends close to Lake Forest, and they told me local places I had to eat. I kind of almost cried when I stepped on the scale today. In the past month, I've put on a few pounds.

I need to change, but I'm just in uber work limbo right now, that I really don't want to change other things before I'm safe with work.

But in the past month, I've gone to Knoebels twice, Dutch Wonderland, and Great Adventure, got 7 new coaster credits, and ended the season on a fairly good note.

Now it's that time of year where I start gearing up for this:

Yep, I seem to be a glutton for punishment. this is year 5. Though I do seem to have a solid idea this year, I just need to work on outlining and execution.

Also i seem to have found a nicer group of people in a region of the philly suburbs than the actual philly region just for sheer fact philly's always obsessed with itself, and even though they say they are open to the outskirts write-ins the vibe just never gelled.

Anywho, someone is a new ML for the town a couple over from me, and they are having write-ins at a library no more that 20 minutes from my place. This is exciting as A) it's a library, and b) said library is a part of the county system I use to check out books. So more books to check out for me.

And I caved I'm trying this 750words.com where in you try to write 750 words a day. Just a literal brain dump. Doesn't have to be any sort of order, just 750 words. First day I got 500+ second day, I abandoned the entry 88 words in cause typing on my iPhone at O'Hare was a bitch, today I did a writing prompt and some rambling and got over 800, words, and with all this rambling, I could very well be close to a decent total for the day.

Which right now It's all about getting my wrist to hate me now and not in November, or just start to build up its strength again, for the NaNo season.

Hmm, an actual update. I suppose I should do one.

Work is still interesting. This coming Wednesday I will be working from home. It's the first round of you know what. I'm being vague because I'm leaving this entry public.

I've been seeing a counselor for my anxiety. It flared up big time since my surgery. I'm convinced if I would have been told, after the surgery, I'd be feeling residual effects for 6-12 months, and that I'd have completely un-related side effects (ie, my hair shedding like crazy, the slight increase in sweat, my period being totally fucked up, etc), I wouldn't have sub-consciously freaked out. Also while not major it was a slight bought of Post Traumatic stress as well. Slowly but surely I'm getting back to normal.

I got to go to Knoebels this weekend. First time riding rides this year. I had an absolute blast. And the guys were right that I had myself more worried about things than I should have been, which also didn't help with the above issue. But now I am honestly looking forward to my trip in less than 3 weeks. Seriously, it's going to be an amazing time, with amazing people.

L-R:Devin, Chris, Bobby, Dave, Laurie, Me

I've also started writing a bit again. It feels good to be writing again. And I'm also more obsessed with books too, but I've always been that way. :)

I do need to cave and get a pro flickr account so I can start uploading pictures again. Will happen sometime.

So I figured I have a bit of downtime I can post what I am looking forward to.

[livejournal.com profile] thissideofme84 and I going to see Romeo and Juliet at the PA Shakespeare Festival
[livejournal.com profile] sajazz coming down Labor day weekend
[livejournal.com profile] stargazer60 visiting for a shopping trip before we go off to the UK in Oct.

Possibly trying to head to a couple more amusement parks this summer.

I'm also working on a bunch of fan-fics right now. I also have original guys floating around, but [livejournal.com profile] stargazer60's writing is taking over my brain and my boys don't want to play. Well they do want to play with [livejournal.com profile] stargazer60's and have a hot kinky 4-some but that won't happen. I think my boys just like hearing about hot men, lol.

I know hard to believe right?

Update, course from hell ended up going out. I survived, with most of my sanity in tact.

Now I get to go to Brooklyn to start on their second set of courses. Kind of excited about that.

In the past two weekends, I've been to Knoebel's, was at my cousin's first communion party, and did the 5 mile Walk MS walk. For which next year my family is going to start their own team instead of joining one.

I have pictures of everything will get stuff loaded up this week sometime.

Big news is that I kind of caved and told at least my mom about my upcoming trips...

While out on the MS walk, I was talking about how I forgot to set up my DVR for Desperate Housewives, and my Aunt was like OMG I love it this season, so we told her that Patrick Logan was John Barrowman, and my aunt was like who? My mom was like you know the one she saw out in San Diego last year, and went to Cardiff to see in Janurary, and if she could go see in Scotland. Then my mom looks at me and goes who am I kidding, you've got a trip planned for Jan. 2011 don't you?

The not looking her straight in the eye gave it away, so I was like well, while I'm at it, Laurie and I you know might be going over in October as well. And she was like for what? I was like John's tour, then I was like by the way, front row tickets, lol.

Then ironically in my newspaper there was an article about Portsmouth, England yesterday. I say it's fate.

But now I can kind of squee publically :) :)

Also don't expect me to comment on anything, I haven't looked at a friends page since last wednesday.
