Vaction 2008

In here click on the Vacation2008 album

So to start of the vacation we went to the Phillies game on Tuesday August 19th, 2008. They played the Washington Nationals. The Phils won.

The first picture here is the family dog Frankie with my sunglasses on. I was bored waiting for my parents to be ready to leave for the game, so I played with the dog.

100_1851

This is Frankie, not wanting my sunglasses on. He was sulking because we were leaving him for a few hours.

100_1851

One of the MANY self portraits I took during this trip. Its OK because it’s one of the few pictures where I don’t look half bad.

100_1853

Phillies Wall of Fame/Hall of Fame in Ashburn Alley.

Warm ups:

100_1860

The obligatory picture of “Hot Program Guy.” Apparently his name is Tom and he recognizes me, since I buy programs from him every game I go to and I have seen him at Flyers games and Sixers games too (nope not stalkerish at all).

100_1865

View of the field from section 313, where we were sitting. It’s a cool section but I wasn’t fond of being in the front row and having the Plexiglas barrier in front of me.

100_1866

Center City Skyline

100_1868

Self Portrait #2

100_1869

Pat Burrell. Yes, his ass is nice, and yes, I am shallow enough to admit I like looking at it.

100_1872

I may have a thing for baseball players asses. But that’s what is usually facing me wherever I sit, so really can anyone blame me?

100_1874
The Phanatic, a little later, I missed getting a picture of Clint Bowyer who was there to promote the race in Sept. at Dover.

100_1876

The trainer stretching out Shane Victorino.

100_1887

More hot guy ass.

100_1888

View from the seats again.

100_1900

Self portrait # 3 I think

100_1903

I think its Jayson Werth batting.

100_1910

Pretty Sunset from the park.

100_1923

Jayson Werth’s Home Run, that helped us win the game.

100_1934

The pic explains it all…

100_1960

*Tear*, the Spectrum, seriously, what freaking sports fans want to go shopping in upscale stores before a game??? Last I checked Philly fans want to tailgate and get drunk and enjoy a good game. Not that I’m bitter about the Spectrum being torn down. Not at all.

100_1962

Old and New, The White Bridge is the old Rt. 13 St. Georges Bridge (it’s still travelled on but not as heavily, as the new bridge) which is the Rt. 1 bridge (the Yellow one). When the Rt. 1 bridge opened it cut down the trip to Ocean City, Maryland by 2 hours.

100_1964

Welcome to Ocean City.

100_1968

My happy face that I’m going to the beach.

100_1969

The supposedly well made leather belt my mom was wearing. It turns out it wasn’t so well made and was crap.

100_1971

The Action News Fan Van “Down at the Shore” Must get that to the 6abc site soon. After I resize it and whatnot.

100_1976

Self portrait # who knows

100_1987

The first roller coaster I ever rode at 5 years old.

100_1990

100_1991

Look closely, there’s that Action News Van again.

100_1992

And again

100_1995

One of my New coaster credits in OCMD

100_1997

See the Action News van likes coasters as well.
100_2000

You know for a coaster that is at least 20 years old it has aged pretty well. I thought it would bang me up pretty bad just looking at the restraints, but all in all I survived without a headache.

100_2002

Um The kiddie coaster credit I got. I actually enjoyed the Wacky Worm. Has a little kick at the end. Though my parents were laughing at me hysterically the whole time. Then there was also the rude lady, who couldn’t count her tickets and got pissed off when I went ahead of her. Seriously, you and your kid needed 10 tickets 5 for each of you. Not that hard to count, and really why would you block the entrance to count your tickets. Move out of the way and count them then get in line, oh right there was no line. It was me and the two of them on the ride. Then she got all pissy cause I cursed over to my parents and them making fun of me. I wanted to smack her. But I had fun on the ride anyway.

100_2003

What? Is that the Action News van again?

100_2005

Didn’t ride this one this time around but I rode that many times as a kid, I just wanted a pic.

100_2011

This was my first looping coaster, years ago. This is the one that really got me into a coaster fanatic.

100_2012
Happy to be getting the ticket thing to ride. Ok so my parents were line doing that and I was taking pictures.

100_2014

My Dad and I in the ocean. Before I got my ass kicked by it.

100_6389

See I’m closer to the shore where the waves were really rough and bad, I’m starting to walk in because the waves had knocked me over.

100_6391

The after picture of being knocked around by the ocean.

100_6392

My self portrait. I don’t think I look too bad here. Don’t get used to me saying that though.

100_6393

My mom trying to be artsy, me in the front, my dad in the background. I won’t comment on how I look.

100_6394

“I’m not touching you.” (Inside family joke, but alas a not too bad picture of me and the pops).

100_6395

The creepy old guy in a speedo, who was going up to girls and children and asking questions. Kind of freaky if you ask me.

100_6396

Nice waves…

100_6402

I really only did this shot to show off my sunburn.

100_2022

My mom

100_6405

Mini Golf.

100_2026

The sun setting on the bay at Seacrets.

100_2030

Me at Seacrets, yes me at a bar/club type place with my parents.

100_6408
They had some lit up bottles in cement around one of the bars there. It looked really cool.

100_2041

The sign for Seacrets out on the bay.

100_2046

Yes that is alcohol in my hand, and no I am not drunk in the picture. I am sober. And yes that is a piece of something in my teeth that just would not go away all night long.

100_2054

This was from those guys who take pictures of you on the beach and then you can get your pictures in the telescope type things.

DSC_0016

The family portrait from those picture people.

DSC_0031

The Rt. 50 Drawbridge. Some reason I’ve always been fascinated with this drawbridge.

100_6424

Sea Barnacles. I thought they were cool.

100_6433

The artistic seagull shot.

100_6437

Another sunset on the bay.

100_6446

I bought goggles at the CVS down there to wear in the pool because the chlorine was really strong and bothered my eyes. So of course I had to try them on and take a self portrait as only I would. Sadly, this was one of the better pictures of me.

100_6450

The family self portrait. Took this while walking along the beach.

100_6454

The traditional family on the lifeguard stand pic.

100_6464

What’s that Nicole drinking another alcoholic beverage?? Seriously? Yep, that would be a Strawberry Shortcake, and that would have been one of the best drinks I ever had.

100_6471

Me and the mom enjoying the drink.

100_6473

My dad thought it was cool to take a picture like that, My mom and I beg to differ.

100_6483

These next bunch of pics are for sajazz.

Assateague Island, Ponies.

100_2060

Different Pony.
100_2069

100_2072

I love looking at all those Philly pictures!! :) They're tearing down the Spectrum?? When did this come about? I just hear the announcer guy's voice from commercials years ago saying, "AAT THAHH SPICTRUM!" I cried when they demolished the Vet.

All the Action News van pictures crack me up. At the second one, before I read your caption I said in my head, "There's that news van again!" haha

Re: The Spectrum, there had been rumblings and rumors all year, but it became official a couple months ago at most. I know I bawled my eyes out when the Vet was torn down. I'll cry when they tear down the Spectrum too.

It actually more pisses me off that we're going to lose the Phantoms as the AHL team because they won't have a venue. And it also pisses me off that people bitch that there isn't enough time in the year to have events at the Wachovia Center like the Disney on Ice stuff, etc. That's what the Spectrum was for.

No I'm not bitter not at all...

Re: The action news van :) At least one person who got it. (Well actually your one of the few friends from the Philly area) But isn't fun they have the little vans now to take whereever?

Looks like you had a lot of fun indeed!
I know a fun gadget you could use for your next trip to take self portraits and family ones with YOU in it. No more distorted faces and arms in the way.
It's called the XSHOT, it's like a camera extender you attach to your camera, it extends up to 3 feet and takes the picture with the self timer as if a stranger was taking it. Pretty cool.
I used it last week-end at a Gaucho soccer game in Santa Barbara and had a lot of fun, especially when everybody is staring at you and ask you where you got it! Check it out at www.xshotpix.com.
