So today I decided to go to Dorney Park in Allentown, Pa. So there was only a slim chance of thunderstorms, well guess what, they lied, it was a huge kick ass storm that lasted an hour and a half. But I'll get to that in a little bit.

As soon as I arrived and entered, and "Turned Left" (please if you don't watch Doctor Who, don't ask about the reference there). I walked down and went towards Voodoo. I got there about an hour after the park opened. Voodoo was a walk on. Good ride though when going over one of the LIMs it kind of seemed like it stuck for a quick second, but it didn't hinder anything. A great way to start the day. I was sitting in I think Row 6 for this. I think a little closer to the front, but not in the front. One of my qualms with Voodoo is the fact that all the promotional items show things being purple and dark colors, but the coaster is yellow and teal exactly like Wicked Twister at Cedar Point. I know they are the same type of coaster, but a little better in the color scheme would have been nice, you know to match the color scheme of the Voodoo sign.

A little dark, but yeah, not completely my fault. It was a sign of things to come.

That is Voodoo going it's 70 mph.

After Voodoo I went over to Steel Force. Again, walked right on. Steel Force was running all three trains. You can tell it's getting old, and it does need a nice new coat of red paint, it is still running good for being 11 years old. To think I was on that opening season, I still love it now as I did back then. I was seated close to the back with this ride. Now I really don't think there is a bad spot on Steel Force because I've been all over on that ride and have loved it.

After Steel Force, I went over to ThunderHawk. At this point, this is where I waited the longest. They only had one of the two trains working, and for some reason the gates were sticking a bit so people weren't getting in and out of the queue in a timely fashion. Now this coaster I really don't know how it's still standing. It hasn't aged well at all. It also needs a MAJOR paint job, it might hide some of the different replacement pieces of wood. But now that I've ridden the The Phoenix at Knoebels like tons of times, I saw today that ThunderHawk is similar in layout to The Phoenix, but The Phoenix has aged so much better.

Heres the only picture I got of Laser. I don't ride that coaster anymore as the last time I was on it, I nearly passed out and got extremely nauseas. This one also needs a paint job majorly. Out of all the coasters, this one needs to be painted first.

After this I look up and notice the sky is a nice shade of grey/black. I think hmm, a storm is a brewing, so I make my way up towards Dominator. I see no line and at this point it is only drizzling. So I walk on and I get seating on the one that shoots you up. As soon as I'm strapped in, they come around going sorry all rides are closed now. Right at that very moment, was a nice little clap of thunder and a lightning bolt. Now I'm just a little ticked off that they didn't close the ride before seating everyone when they saw the storm cloud coming. It would have been a lot easer for them to say get out of line instead of strapping us all in and then having to get us out. But I digress. Here's some pics of the ride I didn't get to go on.

I make my way up towards Hydra because after the storm this is where I need to be. So I get a soda and head up to the gift shop. Needless to say, I spend the next hour and half chilling in the Hydra photo/gift shop. The next lot of photos are me killing time.

Still waiting. Getting frustrated. Can't leave, but don't want to stay.

Getting optimistic, The storm was clearing on the other side of the park. But it was still thundering and lightning though.

There had been a power surge around Hydra, so they were told to turn off anything unnecessary in the gift shop. The photo area lights were turned off, the air on the upper half was turned off as well.

And then there was sun and if you look closely, Hydra's testing.

Another shot of it testing. I know it's dark, but I was quickly trying to get the picture.

Happy to be back outside after the storm. Then I seemed to wait forever until they decided to open the queue for Hydra. Other rides were back operating even other coasters yet Hydra kept testing and testing and not letting anyone in. The line was extremely long to get in. But they finally decided to open it up the line wasn't that long at all. Got on fairly quick. I was mid to back of the train. I still much prefer Medusa at Great Adventure. Hydra always seems just a little disappointing, I think it's more for the lack of speed. You expect something named Hydra to go faster than 53 mph.

Last ride of the day was Talon. Now this is where I waited the longest. I also had a lot of people who were with a group who decided that they all wanted to be together no matter when they entered the line and ended up pushing me out of the way and what not.

I guess my invisibility really is a worldwide phenomena. But I digress.

This last photo was a shirt at Dorney. I almost totally want to go back just to buy this shirt.

All in all I did get to ride the 5 major coasters. Though I would have liked to stay just a bit longer and enjoy the park since I hadn't been there in 3 years, but maybe there will be another trip this year.
